After the heat had really got to people in the last few days, the weather took a little breather today, temperatures dropped to pleasant levels and small showers fell on the Lower Rhine.\nBut don’t worry, the heat was to return once again.\nAfter Gayle<\/strong> and The Script <\/strong>had already slowly felt their way forward, the internal thermometer rose explosively at 9 pm sharp. Pink<\/strong> greeted the audience in Max Headroom comic style via the video screens in Borussia Park. <\/p>\n\n

No Fillers, just Killers<\/strong>The opener “Get This Party Started” kicked off the show, Pink appeared in an opening mouth on the ceiling of the colorful stage and floated, spinning, towards the floor.\nThe audience celebrated with deafening noise and from then on, one visual, athletic and musical highlight literally followed the next.\nThe show truly lived up to its motto “Summer Carnival” at a pleasant 20 degrees, it was colorful with many outfit changes and even if you have long known what a world star Pink is, you were very quickly surprised by the flood of hits presented. <\/p>\n

Gifts, gifts, gifts<\/strong>So much commitment had to be rewarded, of course, and so Pink received her first gift after “Who Knew”, which found its way onto the stage in the form of a crocheted frog, prompting the likeable singer to express her thanks with lots of air kisses.\nBut this was not to be the last gift for the 44-year-old.\nThere were always little gifts and she commented on each one sympathetically.\nShe was particularly pleased to receive a pack of Tim Tam cookies from her home country, as she joked that she could enjoy eating them herself on tour, as she had security with her on tour to protect the sweet treats from her children. <\/p>\n\n

Greetings to D\u00fcsseldorf<\/strong>With a little sugar, a small greeting was then sent to the state capital.\nPink sang “Yellow” by Coldplay<\/strong>, because the audience could have been at Coldplay<\/strong> in D\u00fcsseldorf today and she didn’t want us to miss anything.\n Pink<\/strong> initially showed her emotional, sweet side during this phase, before rocking out with guitars and fire during the Pat Benatar cover “Heartbreaker” directly after “Just Like Fire”. <\/p>\n\n

Karma strikes up<\/strong>Things continued much more quietly with a few acoustic numbers, but the country-esque “I Am Here”, Pink’s feel-good song, was also included and, fittingly, Karma hit the stage with a jacket as another gift – that’s what it’s like when you make so many people happy at the same time with one performance.\nAnd this cheerfulness was then celebrated together with the 4 Non Blondes cover “What’s Up”, which had the entire audience singing along loudly from almost 43,000 throats and hugging each other. <\/p>\n\n

The grand finale<\/strong>The hot phase of the evening began with a gloomy backdrop.\nPink took to the air again for “Try”.\nDancing was once again allowed to accompany the acrobatics, as with the title track of her current album “Trustfall”.\nThe band was introduced to “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”, their dancers followed (in)appropriately to “Never Gonna Dance Again”, before the grand finale was heralded, which was of course reserved for “So What” and another show highlight.\nAnd so, as the crowning finale, the American bundle of energy floated completely above our heads through Borussia Park before the show came to an end to a shower of confetti after almost two hours and with thousands of beaming faces. <\/p>\n

A light in dark times<\/strong>Pink proved once again at Borussia Park M\u00f6nchengladbach what an absolutely exceptional artist she is, mixing showmanship, athleticism and powerful songs like no other and delivering this colorful cocktail with a radiant empathy that is second to none.\nEven in such a large stadium, she managed to establish a connection and closeness to her fans in a way that few can, even taking time to sign autographs or offer direct, friendly words to her fans. <\/p>\n\n
