The track has gone through several phases, explain   <strong>The Horrors<\/strong>  and continue: &#8220;; &#8220;It was one of the first songs from the &#8216;Night Life&#8217; sessions that really got us excited &#8211; Rhys&#8217; original lyrics made me think of &#8216;5 Years&#8217; by  <strong>David Bowie<\/strong>  and I began to build on the idea. A &#8216;Lotus Eater&#8217; lives in a state of blissful ignorance, and for me the song describes the moment of returning to reality. We wanted it to convey a sense of melancholy and euphoria, letting go of the past and starting again.
