The fact that JEZIBABA come from traditional gypsy folk was shown a little less in their killer ballads “A Wiked Breath of Death”, but all the more in the new single “The Witches’ Rune”. The medieval folk song begins with an acoustic guitar that sets the tone and perfectly supports the strong vocals. As the song progresses, the use of various instruments increases, from violins to drums. Thematically, it is – nomen est omen – extremely mystical: Jezibaba invoke the forces of nature, heaven, hell and various pagan deities and make them subservient to them. Formerly sung while dancing in a circle with many of their kind, Jezibaba – now that their kind has become rare – must do this alone. If you go to pagan places of power on a moonlit night, you can sometimes hear her singing there … <\/p>\n\n\n\n
