Sister May<\/strong> ‘s concept album “VII” is immediately captivating. Each song is intended to describe a different aspect of the great collapse that is about to happen – or perhaps has already happened? – We talk about this in our two-part interview. You can read the first part here <\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

Orkus:<\/strong> You shot a breathtaking video for “Shadows”. How did the idea for these seamless transitions come about? Bert Goethals:<\/strong> We wanted the video to feel like one continuous movement – with no clear beginning and no clear end. The seamless transitions reflect how everything on the album is connected. There are no isolated moments – everything flows into something else, whether you realize it or not. Visually, we tried to reflect that sense of inevitability. <\/p>\n\n

O:<\/strong> “Shattered Love” is also particularly intense. How did this song come about?BG:<\/strong> “Shattered Love” comes from a place where connections begin to break. Not in a dramatic way, but in a very subtle, almost invisible way. It’s about the growing distance where there used to be closeness, and the frustration of not being able to stop this process. <\/p>\n\n

O:<\/strong> You are looking at the different aspects of the collapse. Do you think it will happen soon – or are we already well on the way to it? BG:<\/strong> I think we’re already in the middle of it. Not necessarily a visible collapse, but something underneath it – systems are becoming more cumbersome, people are increasingly losing contact with each other. That doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a slow process, and that’s what makes it so dangerous. <\/p>\n\n

O:<\/strong> What can we do to somehow get a grip on the situation?BG:<\/strong> That’s the difficult part – there is no simple answer. But I think awareness is a starting point. Recognizing the patterns, questioning them and trying to reconnect on a human level. It sounds small, but maybe that’s where change starts. <\/p>\n\n

O:<\/strong> What are the future plans for Sister May?BG:<\/strong> At the moment we are concentrating on bringing “VII” to the stage as intensively as possible. We are expanding internationally, especially in Belgium and the Netherlands, and are working towards something bigger. In 2027, Sister May<\/strong> will be celebrating their tenth anniversary and we want that to be a defining moment. But above all, we just want to keep moving forward. Without compromise. <\/p>\n\n
