In the second part of our interview, we talk to CNVX<\/strong> about the new EP “Path I – Rising”, moths and visions of the future. Did you miss the first part? No problem, you can read it here <\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Orkus: <\/strong>Do you like to challenge yourselves?France:<\/strong> We often challenge ourselves, especially in our music. Our own standards are the biggest challenge, but this has also allowed us to create great songs and grow together as a band. Dirk: <\/strong>Absolutely! Without constantly challenging ourselves, for example, the band wouldn’t be possible. In addition to our jobs, families and all the other commitments, it’s a huge effort for everyone. In the meantime, however, we have developed a very good routine and have integrated band life as a permanent fixture. We rehearse twice a week and often add a day in the studio for songwriting\/recording. With a fixed goal and focus, anything is possible. O <\/strong>: “My Darkest Days” is also very captivating. Is there a background story to it? Dirk:<\/strong> The idea for the content of “My Darkest Days” came from me. I had a time in my life when I wasn’t doing well. A very dear and close person helped me through this time. On the one hand, the song shows the force and intensity of the darkness, but the chorus ends with a thank you to the people who stand by your side and help you through these times. O: <\/strong>What would be your “darkest days”?France:<\/strong> My darkest days are the ones when I don’t feel strong at all and sometimes think I’m not good enough.Dirk: <\/strong>I hope I have left the darkest days behind me. In addition to existential\/family matters, it would be very drastic for me if I could no longer translate my creativity into music. O: <\/strong>What brings you light and hope in such days?France:<\/strong> Going out into nature, talking about his worries with friends and family, but also expressing his feelings through artistic or musical projects.<\/p>\n\n

Dirk: <\/strong>When I don’t feel good, I can always get back on track very quickly with my creativity. At such moments, I always realize that the situation that is currently challenging me is rather harmless and easy to solve compared to the life situations of many other people. What I have learned in life is that with a little patience, most things work themselves out or a new path opens up if you change your focus. However, patience is a difficult thing for me. (winks) O: <\/strong>The EP ends roundly with “Oceans Embrace”. The song is particularly dramatic. How did it come into being?France:<\/strong> All of us in the band are absolutely fascinated by the sea and love being by the water. It makes you feel free, relieved and at home. This feeling is inherent in all of us and we wanted to capture it in a song. Conveniently, we also shot our music video for “Oceans Embrace” by the sea, which helped us to realize this feeling in our song. Dirk:<\/strong> I actually wrote the instrumental for the song while on vacation at the Baltic Sea. The atmosphere there inspired me to create this wide, spherical sound. When we sat down in the studio to work on the vocals, the idea came up to use the lyrics to describe a moment of absolute contentment and harmony. No beginning and no end, no good and no bad, just the perfection of the moment. Where better to do that than by the sea? O <\/strong>: The title “Path I – Rising” implies that there might also be another “Path”? What are your immediate plans for the future? Dirk:<\/strong> Yes, as I mentioned in the opening question, we want to think beyond a classic album. “PATH I – Rising” is the first part of an EP trilogy with four songs each. “PATH II” is already in production and will be released in the fall. “PATH III” is then planned for spring 2027. Our dream is to combine the “PATH” trilogy into a complete vinyl album. <\/p>\n\n
