Ruhr Region Melancholy Meets Danceable Darkness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Despite its somber tone, \u201cIn Between Sadness\u201d never sounds hopeless. Wavy guitars, flowing synthesizers, and driving rhythms lend the album an elegant lightness. Rio calls it \u201cmelancholic dance music for Lumpi the vampire,\u201d while Mirco describes it as \u201csad songs for a dance floor shrouded in fog.\u201d \u201cThese Grey Alleys\u201d in particular stands out as a single\u2014dark in its lyrics, yet surprisingly catchy. Per Anders Kurenbach\u2019s remix is also likely to find its way straight onto the dance floors of dark-wave clubs. <\/p>\n\n

A monument\u2014and a new beginning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Their hometowns also play a role: Rio speaks of \u201cPolish melancholy\u201d and the influence of the Ruhr region, while Mirco refers more to \u201cthe slowly creeping melancholy in Bielefeld.\u201d \u201cIn Between Sadness\u201d is a musical tribute to those we\u2019ve lost\u2014and a testament to how healing art can be. Or, as Rio puts it: \u201cThe people we\u2019ve lost wanted us to keep going.\u201d Mirco sums up the forward-looking perspective: \u201cLife will go on.\u201d <\/p>\n\n
