Bael Blackwood is both the name of the singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist behind the music and the name of the project, which was founded in 2024. The second part of our deep dive into Bael Blackwood\u2019s latest single, \u201cAschemeer,\u201d reveals what\u2019s at stake and where chance played a role. Missed Part 1? Lies & Emptying<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In plays such as \u201cBlind with Rage\u201d and \u201cReligion,\u201d some similar themes can be found. \u201cIn my experience, hatred and anger arise mainly because people don\u2019t know any better. Many are simply afraid, don\u2019t understand certain connections, and let themselves be led astray by liars and agitators. Initial anger eventually turns into a burning hatred. And this hatred inevitably leads to destruction.\u201d Education, understanding, and respect can counteract this. \u201cThere will always be agitators and others who want to burn everything down. They never sleep. That makes it all the more important that all those who have something to oppose them must not rest either.\u201d Prayer and hope offer no help in the song\u2019s lyrics; \u201con their own, they don\u2019t offer anyone a way forward. A drive to act\u2014like figuratively scooping out a sea of ashes\u2014can inspire others to join in and remove some of the destruction, making room for something new.\u201d In the song, this doesn\u2019t succeed, \u201cbut for our world, I hope that people will eventually wake up again and understand that hatred and destruction can never be the answer.\u201d <\/p>\n\n

An Omnipresent Apocalypse?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Kevin Spiegel provided the guest vocals on the single version of \u201cAschemeer (feat. Halber Sohn).\u201d \u201cIt was actually a funny coincidence\u2026\u201d At first, Kevin brought up the idea of a collaboration and introduced his song \u201cAsche und Staub,\u201d which is \u201calso apocalyptic.\u201d \u201cAschemeer\u201d was already in the works at that point. \u201cWe had no idea that we were both tackling the same theme and that there were even similarities in the titles. So I instinctively offered him the chance to make a guest appearance on my song as well.\u201d On the album version of \u201cAschemeer,\u201d only Bael Blackwood\u2019s voice will be featured. The upcoming second album will likely outgrow its current working title (\u201cDunkelheit\u201d); what\u2019s certain is that it will be: \u201cauthentic, varied, surprising.\u201d <\/p>\n\n
