With \u201cThe Corpse of a Titan, a Lament Long Buried,\u201d the English black metal pioneers Hecate Enthroned<\/strong> present a complex piece of work. Some call their unique style symphonic black metal; others, extreme gothic metal. Singer Joe Stamp doesn\u2019t really care either way; above all, he wants to provide his fans with meaningful entertainment, as he makes clear in our two-part interview. Did you miss the first part? Sociable<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Sometimes the most beautiful things happen by chance. In any case, the video captures the atmosphere and fits well with the song and the band, which can be described as \u201ctheatrical\u201d in the best sense of the word. \u201cI definitely agree with you there. The story-driven lyrics, the artwork, and our overall aesthetic are strongly reminiscent of theater. We\u2019re also trying to incorporate this aspect more effectively into our live shows. Even though we\u2019ve been around for a long time, we\u2019re still looking for ways to connect more deeply with the audience and let our fans be part of what\u2019s happening on stage.\u201d <\/p>\n\n

Moving Pictures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

And the frontman has very specific ideas about this, which unfortunately are out of reach given the current budget. \u201cI dream of a moving backdrop featuring a dark forest landscape, on which various images and sequences could be displayed to match the songs. It would then move to different spots on stage during the concert. Something like that is used in modern theaters, but unfortunately it\u2019s out of our reach.\u201d The British band has been performing live sparingly lately; last year they played just two shows in England. \u201cThat\u2019s right\u2014we definitely want to perform more again with the new album. We\u2019ve got a few things in the works, so keep an eye out for new dates.\u201d Given the strong impression \u201cThe Corpse of a Titan, a Lament Long Buried\u201d has left, we\u2019ll certainly be doing just that. <\/p>\n\n
