Even if you can still recognize the youth of the eighties in his face, Dave Gahan<\/strong> celebrated his 60th birthday last May. Maybe it’s just that alert twinkle in his eyes that tells of his eventful life with Depeche Mode<\/strong>. We take a look back based on some interviews we have conducted in the past. <\/p>\n\n

The most natural thing in the world<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

He would never have dreamed of still being so active as a world-famous singer at the age of 60. In 2015, he told us, “I remember many years ago, when I was probably in my late twenties, we were doing some TV show in Germany, and Pete Townsend of The Who<\/strong> appeared in the show. We talked a little bit in the hallway. I remember thinking after that, ‘Wow, I hope I don’t do this again when I’m his age!'” He laughed and continued, “Now I understand it better. Because that’s what we do. We’re musicians. We perform and we enjoy it. And hopefully we’ll do other things when we get a little older. But being on stage is the most natural thing in the world. And The Who are still doing it, The Stones<\/strong> are still doing it, so I still have a few years to go.”<\/p>\n\n
