From the spirit of cooperation – part 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

(The following interview was first published in the Orkus! issue September 2003)<\/p>\n\n

20 years ago Alexander Kaschte realized with Samsas Traum<\/strong> with the album “Tineoida oder: Die Folgen einer Nacht. Eine Gothic-Oper in Blut-Moll”, a scene music collaboration in a class of its own. We look back and continue the interview with him, Asp<\/strong>, Blutengel<\/strong> and Sanguis et Cinis<\/strong>. About frowned upon cultness and the weirdness with live implementation – Chris as a mad professor and head movies.<\/p>\n\n

Alexander:<\/strong> “It’s all one big movie in my head that looks like it’s supposed to look on the dot.”<\/p>\n\n

Orkus: <\/strong>Kanntet ihr das Gesamtkonzept oder immer \u201enur\u201ceuren Part?Chris: <\/strong>Ich hatte mir einige Sachen durchgelesen, aber v\u00f6llig verinnerlicht habe ich das alles nicht, weil ich daneben viel zu tun hatte.Alexander: <\/strong>Man kann auch nicht verlangen, dass sich Musiker, die alle ihre eigenen Bands, haben, mit wirklich allem auseinandersetzen, worum es in dem Album geht. Wir reden hier von zw\u00f6lf Liedern, in denen 15 bis 20 Charaktere auftauchen.Asp: <\/strong>Als wir zusammen im Studio sa\u00dfen, durfte ich ein wenig mehr von der Geschichte sehen. Daraufhin habe ich dreimal hintereinander ganz schnell gesagt: \u201eDuspinnstduspinnstduspinnst!\u201c Aber das ist es auch, was mir gef\u00e4llt. Das Ganze ist schon ein bisschen comicm\u00e4\u00dfig, fast ein wenig trashig, wenn ich das so sagen darf.Alexander <\/strong>(l\u00e4chelnd):Kultig!Asp <\/strong>(mit gespielter Emp\u00f6rung):Man sagt \u00fcber sich selbst nicht, man sei kultig!Alexander: <\/strong>Ich habe ja nicht \u00fcber mich gesagt, dass ich kultig bin!Asp: <\/strong>Es ist einfach so ein bisschen…Alexander: <\/strong>Schr\u00e4g!Asp: <\/strong>…modern, schr\u00e4g und schrill, einfach genau mein Ding. Ich bin auf das Endergebnis schon sehr gespannt.<\/p>\n

Asp:<\/strong> “I would donate my last bucks to see Chris Pohl as a mad professor.”<\/p>\n\n

Orkus: <\/strong>Can you imagine performing this Gothic Opera live all together, also with the mentioned artists who are not present today?Asp: <\/strong>Never!!!Celine: <\/strong>We would need a mega-bombastic stage to fit everyone on it.Asp: <\/strong>Of course it would be totally great to do something like that. But that would be too much work, especially since we all come from very different areas. We would certainly have to form a kind of vacation camp for two weeks at a time in order to rehearse. But I hope we can present one or two of the pieces at the next “reunion”. If not, then at least the piece I was allowed to sing, on our joint tour, which will take place in the fall.Alexander: <\/strong>I also think it’s just too complex, too fancy, especially since I have a very specific image of everything. The settings, characters, costumes…. It’s all one big movie in my head that looks like it should look right on cue. For me, it would be a rape of the material to perform the concept in a setting that doesn’t come close to my vision. It would have to be a real musical. But who knows, maybe in ten years some GmbH or AG will buy the whole thing and then it will be listed.Asp: <\/strong>In ten years we won’t be able to move, we’ll need a support corset!Chris: <\/strong>Just because of the number of artists, it would be a mammoth project, financially as well. In principle, however, it would be a huge thing, and I would be there, out of pure interest, without a huge fee at any time.Asp: <\/strong>I would donate my last bucks to see Chris Pohl as a mad professor.Chris: <\/strong>It would be a really exciting story, and I think something like that is missing from the scene right now.<\/p>\n\n

Orkus:<\/strong> Liegt f\u00fcr dich, Alexander, nicht gerade in der Dimension der Reiz, weil es eben etwas Einmaliges w\u00e4re, k\u00f6nnte esumgesetzt werden?Alexander: <\/strong>Man gewinnt mit der Zeit, je l\u00e4nger man Musik macht und je l\u00e4nger man von Musik lebt und je mehr man sich mit dem ganzen Drumherum auseinander setzt, eine objektivere Sichtweise, die nat\u00fcrlich auch die Finanzen betrifft. Selbstverst\u00e4ndlich tr\u00e4ume ich zu Hause auch mal davon, diese Idee live umzusetzen, aber es ist ein im Augenblick nicht umsetzbares Projekt. Und deswegen widme ich mich lieber anderen Vorhaben, bevor ich dieses Projekt hier nicht hundertprozentig so umsetze, wie ich das m\u00f6chte.<\/p>\n\n
