30 years ago: NINE INCH NAILS

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

It has been 30 years since Nine Inch Nails released their single “March of the Pigs”. It was the lead single from the legendary album “The Downward Spiral”. With its incredible energy, it is one of Nine Inch Nails best ten songs, despite its comparatively short playing time of just under three minutes for the band, and is an integral part of their live concerts.

The music video is also cult in its minimalization: the band performs the song live in front of a white wall. Meanwhile, Trent Reznor repeatedly knocks over the other band members and his guitar stand and drops the microphone. Accordingly, stagehands are constantly running into the picture to put everything that has been knocked over back up again and to hand Trent a new microphone. The camera constantly zooms and pans, which creates a special effect. In contrast to conventional music videos, the sound of the live performance is reproduced 1:1 and the studio recording is not inserted.
