Phantoms of Future were founded in Dortmund in 1986. They achieved cult status in the nineties in particular. They have toured with Iggy Pop, Stranglers, The Sisters of Mercy, Sex Pistols, Cypress Hill and Prodigy. Their song “Sun” – together with Metallica – “One” and Nirvana – “Smells Like Teen Spirit” – was in the top 3 of the DAC. The band announced their break-up in 2001. – Now – a good 25 years later – Phantoms of Future are rising like a phoenix from the ashes with their new album “Forever Dark”. The experimental sound, which wavers between punk, new wave and rock, has remained to this day. And somehow Phantoms of Future sound as if there weren’t 40 years between their early days and the present. You will find out more shortly.
