A declaration of love to the eighties is not only “80s Forever”, but the entire new album by Angelzoom. “Grey Devotion” combines life-affirming dark wave with gloomy pop elements to form a lively unit. At the center is the clear voice of Claudia Uhle (formerly of X-Perience), who, together with producer Bernd Wendlandt, breathes life back into Angelzoom after a long time. For almost an hour, dark electronic sounds and profound themes create tension. Despite the melancholy that runs through the album, hope and positivity predominate. “Grey Devotion” is the right album at the right time.
