Not a bad omen. It’s not just during the World Cup that the ball needs to keep rolling—the Dresden-based band Argorok wanted to get a head start and not make their fans wait for an album. So “Omen” is now being released, shortening the wait. Four superbly crafted melodic death metal songs. Brutal, crashing guitar sounds, supported by harmonious melodies that provide the perfect backdrop for singer Boa’s guttural roars. Thematically, the five members draw from several mythologies, and their own interpretation of the ancient legend of Ragnarök is particularly well done.
