BLINDZEILE interview (1/2)

Blindpop’s style could be described as a fusion of dream pop, electronica, indie and wave. Or as the band, founded in 2016, puts it themselves: basement pop! We talk to David Pümperlin about the new album “Voliere”.
Flying space?
The title of the fifth Blindzeile album, “Voliere”, stands for “boundaries that would be insurmountable even if you could fly”, explains David Pümpin. “‘Käfig’ was able to overcome one boundary – that of language: the song is played on a radio station in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.”
Simple coulated
Is there a lightness to the creation of “Erholsam”? “When it comes to the music, the creative part is often light-hearted. But when it comes to the lyrics, the light-heartedness often disappears. What I find exciting in this context is that the seemingly simple songs often demand a lot from me.” In the case of “Erholsam”, the extremely brief lyrics took courage. “But I really liked the image of a peaceful relationship between night and day.”
