BLOOD RED SHOES: Lonely Together?
Two voices, two perspectives, and a shared musical language: On “Stay Lonely,” set for release on September 18, 2026, Blood Red Shoes once again demonstrate what makes their connection so special. Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell produced the new album entirely on their own. “Stay Lonely” is a romantic yet melancholic album, the duo explains—driven by a sincerity that has grown out of their long-standing collaboration.
About the song “Screams,” the band explains: “We have a strong traditional streak in our band, and this song comes straight from that corner. Four chords, simple melodies, straightforward lyrics. Just unadulterated, unpretentious, and brutally honest songwriting. However, we deliberately pushed everything to the limit, because we like traditional songs, but not traditional sounds.”
