CRADLE OF FILTH: How did the band name come about?
Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

When cleaning out the attic of guitarist Paul’s grandmother – who had just moved into an assisted living facility – the members of a band that was formed a year later literally found a “cradle of filth”, i.e. a cradle staring at dust and dirt. Paul recalled to an online magazine: “At first we even took the cradle on stage with us. But everyone thought it was a bit intrusive.” Fronter Daniel added: “It wasn’t very big either. At least no bigger than a normal cradle. Spiders regularly crawled out of it too.” So everyone was thrilled when the band name was decided.
