The single “Day-in Day-out” was released on March 23, 1987. In it, David Bowie criticizes the treatment of homeless people in the USA. The song itself is about the abyss into which a young mother sinks to feed her child. For the music video, which was filmed on Hollywood Boulevard at night, David Bowie learned to roller skate. It was indexed mainly because of a strongly implied rape scene.
