Old-school dry death metal —especially the Swedish variety—blasts from the speakers of the East Frisian band Hellysh. On their fourth album, “Heksenkæssel,” they really let loose, with sawing riffs clashing with a pumping rhythm section. Frontman Phil growls his heart out, yet the songs are catchy in their own way and creatively arranged. If you’re into Dismember and the like, you should definitely dip your ear into the musical “Heksenkæssel.” Recommended tracks include “Carnal Devourment,” “Black Death,” and the lengthy “Children of the Lost.” One “butcher’s platter” with tea, please.
