In 100 days: WGT! – Review 2023 (part 3)

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.
WGT 3

The time has come in 100 days, the next Whitsunday will be here and the WGT 2024 will be in full swing. But until then, let’s take a look back at the 30th Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2023 and we’ve now reached Saturday. If you missed the previous parts, click here for part 1.

Surprisingly, we had enough time to get to bed on Saturday to tackle the upcoming program with full vigour. (MLH) . This year, after a long wait, the 9th Steampunk Picnic took place in the large garden of the German Allotment Garden Museum. Those who still hadn’t had enough of the wonderful impressions of the Victorian Picnic from the day before could admire other interesting constructions and clothing. The Heidnische Dorf had once again opened its gates with a small Viking village, where you could either relax in the grass with a hemp mead accompanied by medieval sounds or escalate completely in front of the large stage. At the agra exhibition park, visitors were able to shop extensively and feast at the various food trucks and stands. (FW)

That’s where we settled down: Thomas Rainer kicked off an energetic line-up with Nachtmahr. The “girls in uniform” knew how to playfully wrap the hall around their gloved fingers. With Hocico, Covenant (there was even an admission stop here, as the ripcord was pulled at 8,500 people) and Front 242, the dancing legs were more than exhausted at the end of the day, but the head was simply blissful! Speaking of “euphoric”: all our prayers were answered – Noctulus was in his usual place! Phew, what luck! (MLH)

In the immediate vicinity, in the Heidnisches Dorf, Wolfenmond and later in the evening Faun, among others, delighted the audience with their wonderful sounds. In the Volkspalast, Goethes Erben and numerous guests created an incomparable atmosphere. In the Felsenkeller, on the other hand, Ghosting brought tears to the eyes with a moving final performance. Afterwards, Grausame Töchter shone particularly brightly with their visual performance. And Das Ich were still in absolute top form despite their great-grandfather status. (CZZ)

In the next part, we’ll continue with Whitsunday, when we visited Deine Lakaien, Rosa†Crvx, Diary of Dreams and Eisregen, among others.
