Interview with KELTANIA (2/2)

In our two-part interview, we talk to Johanna and Vika about how Keltania came to be, their latest single “Helden der Zeit” and the power women’s band’s plans for the future. You missed the first part? No problem, you can read it here .
Orkus: We often hear about the past heroes of great legends. How can you become a hero today who will stand the test of time? How would you define “heroism”?
Johanna Jeschonek: Even today, there are heroes of our time who selflessly help others at great risk to life and limb. Many of these heroes don’t make it into the history books, but remain unforgotten by the people they helped.
O: What would be your personal heroes?
Veronika Haubrich: Even in the school playground, there were schoolchildren who stood up for the less fortunate and firefighters who risked their own lives to save people. But people who don’t just look away in a dangerous situation are also heroes to me.
O: Another single was released this year: “Tanz den Feuertanz”. A song that simply puts you in a good mood! Is there a story behind it?
JJ: We got to know Anastasia, the fire dancer, during our performances at medieval markets. She was not only the inspiration for the song, but also helped us with the video. Without her support, we would probably have gone up in flames during our shoot with the fire fans.
O: You are working on your own fantasy musical. How can we imagine that? Please tell us about it! … How did the idea come about in the first place?
VH: Keltania is not only the name of our band, but also the name of our fantasy land. The musical is therefore called “The Keltania Saga” and tells the story of a land between shadow and light that is threatened by the dark magician Morrigana. We play a part ourselves and do everything we can to save the light world of Keltania. You will find out whether we are successful on December 12, 2026 at the premiere in the Stadthalle Erding.
O: What are Keltania’s plans for the near future? Is there also an album planned?
JJ: Our next single is called “Bouddica” and is about the Celtic queen of the same name who opposed the Roman Empire. Once again, there will be an elaborate video with scenes from the
Roman and Celtic times. This will be followed by the concept album “The Keltania Saga” to accompany the musical.
