Interview with LIMINAL SKY (1/2)

Jaime Gomez Arellano, who is also a producer, mixer & mastering engineer(Ghost, Ulver, Opeth, Paradise Lost), and Daniel Knight have been playing together in various bands (including Messenger) for over 20 years. They founded Liminal Sky in 2020. We talk to them in our two-part interview about their debut album “All Tomorrow’s Darkness”, which will be released on June 19, 2026.
Intentional
The debut album “All Tomorrow’s Darkness” corresponds to what Liminal Sky were aiming for, summarizes Jaime Gomez Arellano. “However, it was quite a complex process.” With several guest musicians and recordings in different locations, “it was a long journey. In total, it took about four to five years to complete.”
Origin
“For me, it always starts with the emotional core of the song. Whether it was something I wrote, Daniel wrote or something we developed together, there was always a clear feeling behind it from the beginning,” Jaime says in connection with “Forget Me Not”. “I tend to write when I’m in a more emotional state, usually trying to express something darker or more melancholic.” This shapes the dynamics in the music in a natural way, including the shifts “between restraint and intensity.”
