Five years after the release of “Black Anima”, Lacuna Coil are no less hard, modern and dark. The band around singer Cristina Scabbia and shouter Andrea Ferro are now even more powerful. Once again, the focus is on their ability to create incredibly catchy yet hard-hitting songs. Be it the driving “Hosting the Shadow”, performed as a duet with Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe, the melodic heartbreak anthem “I Wish You Were Dead” (with some of the most beautiful vocal melodies on the album) or the darkly romantic “Gravity” – the talented Italians never fail to impress.
