MARILYN MANSON – “Holy Wood” – was released 24 years ago today. Do you know these 5 facts?

Marilyn Manson‘s fourth album “Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)” was released exactly 24 years ago to the day. Did you already know these 5 facts?
★ “Holy Wood” is the first part of the trilogy in reverse chronological order, which includes “Mechanical Animals” (1998) and “Antichrist Superstar” (1996).
★ The album was written in Manson’s former home in the Hollywood Hills, where he virtually holed up for three months. The aftermath of the Columbine massacre, in which two teenagers murdered twelve students and a teacher on April 20, 2000, was still in Marilyn Manson’s bones. Shortly afterwards, he was accused of being partly responsible with his type of music and precarious themes. Attempts were even made to take legal action against the band.
★ The thoughts and themes of “Holy Wood” are also reflected throughout this event.
★ The artwork was created by Manson and P. R. Brown. The band lettering uses the same font as Disney World used in the sixties. Part of John F. Kennedy’s autopsy report can be seen at the bottom. In America, the cover image was partially subject to censorship.
★ Originally, a movie of the same name was also planned to explain the background story of the album. This eventually became a novel, which remains unpublished to this day.
