NATHANAEL in interview

3 facts:
– Nathanael named themselves after the protagonist in E.T.A. Hoffmann’s “Der Sandmann”.
– They cite My Chemical Romance, Misfits, In Extremo, Subway to Sally, Tanzwut and Coppelius among others as formative bands.
– In addition to the themes addressed in the texts by Jules Verne, E.T.A. Hoffmann and Franz Kafka, Wolfgang Hohlbein, Terry Pratchett, Stephen King and J.R.R. Tolkien can also be mentioned as formative literature.
In our fall issue we talk to Nathanel about the debut album “Des Wahnsinns Methode”. But how did everything actually begin? Dennis explains that the founding idea had existed for some time until finally, as if by chance – or was it fate? – found the first suitable comrades-in-arms. In the Corona period, the sextet finally completed itself.
As a passionate LP collector, Dennis knows the importance of music as a total work of art, and so special emphasis was also placed on the album cover: “The dozens of repetitions of our band name and the shadowy representation of my likeness inside the CD are inspired by King’s ‘The Shining’, for example, and pick up on a pop-cultural representation of madness. The torn Victorian wallpaper represents the connection to us as a Victorian Metal band. The signs and symbols hiding on the cover are partially reflected in our song lyrics.”
