On Stage: GRAUSAME TÖCHTER

With pulsating Electro from Berlin, the support Vampyros Lesbos kicked off the evening in Nuremberg with three songs, which we will remember as spectacular and entertaining.

Anna can do that!
The live performances of Grausame Töchter are known/infamous for their energetic performance and visual staging. Front woman Aranea Peel is characterized by her distinctive voice, but above all by her provocative aesthetics. She polarizes and fascinates in equal measure, presenting herself as a gifted entertainer and actress with her facial expressions and gestures.

Once the styling is ruined, the performance is completely uninhibited!
After around 45 minutes of the show, the make-up had run, the wig was off and the stage outfit was dirty. At this point, one would have expected at most one more song. But that was out of the question for Grausame Töchter! Now things really got going, the beats became even faster, the show more provocative – and all in a performance arc that didn’t seem to flatten out at all. After around 100 minutes with about 16 songs and two encores, the audience at the sold-out Cult in Nuremberg still didn’t want to let the band go. One of the audience members was so motivated that he shouted “I love you!” twice at the top of his lungs in the direction of the stage.

During a concert, people usually get drinks, take a cigarette or pee break or cuddle with their partner. This evening was a little different. The risk of missing another show highlight due to carelessness would have been far too great. The audience followed the spectacle on stage intently and unperturbed, sometimes with open mouths (keyword: “pouring gas cans over”). One visitor jokingly commented: “It’s as if Nina Hagen had met up with Alice Cooper to party in Berghain, and we all got to be there – simply brilliant and unbeatable!” We can only agree with that.
