ORGY – “Candyass” (25-year classic)

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

Orgy
“Candyass”
(WEA)

The debut of the four from L.A. is first of all hard to digest fare. Hardcore or Metal as a musical structure and Korn, an innovative platinum-selling band of this genre, as a supporting entity. But these are only the components of the blank. The idiosyncratic touch is provided by cleverly integrated industrial sounds, undeniable influences of various Gothic heroes and a certain Dave Ogilvie at the controls. And already names like Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson are being bandied about. At the latest on the second run through, various grooves eat into the auditory canals and wacky melodies through the guitar thunderstorm. For people who still haven’t noticed that a certain “Beautiful People” is the weakest song on a terrific record, Orgy also have something ready. The first aha-effect is once again a cover version, only I call New Order’s “Blue Monday” in the version by Orgy the most successful eighties adaptation of all time. It gives the finishing touch to the stone of the bump. Orgy “Candyass” – is a CD without comparison; and “Blue Monday” be my dance floor tip for the next months.
