Orkus! album of the week: IN EXTREMO – “Wolkenschieber”

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

Kings of medieval rock
IN EXTREMO
“Wolkenschieber

Album (Vertigo/Universal Music)
Release date: September 13, 2024

Despite a multi-layered sound, in which their medieval rock is sometimes mixed with electronic elements, metal influences or oriental music, the sextet remains true to itself musically and lyrically on “Wolkenschieber”. Numerous guests such as Joachim Witt or Oliver Satyr (Faun) are just the icing on the cake. “Wolkenschieber” ends on a perfectly epic note with “Terra Mater”. And then come two bonus tracks! Rocky and “free-mouthed”, “Schweine” is inspiring and “Das Totenschiff” conveys the sense of freedom that has always driven the band and underlines once again why In Extremo are the kings of medieval rock.
