With their second studio album “Burn Me Once”, the British trio Westenra create goth rock that nestles delightfully in your ears. This is due on the one hand to the booming bass and the lustfully shrieking guitars, and on the other to the sensual, dark voice of front woman Luci, whose vocal power is reminiscent of a young, dynamic Siouxsie, without the intention of copying her. And so one song flows delightfully into the next, creating a delicious listening experience in ten tracks. Recommended tracks are the epic “Ghosts in the Machine”, the reflective “Time” and the rousing, irresistible “For All to See”.
