SixTurnsNine: Between post-punk and triphop

The band name SixTurnsNine is based on the Jimi Hendrix song “If 6 Was 9”. “The name stands for the fact that ultimately the perspective has a lot to do with how something is perceived. Depending on the audience, we are and were somehow pop or experimental,” says Philip.” With their new album “Soul Glitches” they thematize SixTurnsNine the “big and small emotional triggers that accumulate in the soul over time and disturb its balance. These ‘glitches’ can come as flashbacks at any time and sometimes rob you of sleep, ultimately influencing your actions. Possible triggers are memories, thoughts or even intense feelings,” explains singer Anja. These can be both positive and negative. SixTurnsNine invite us on an emotional journey with “Soul Glitches”, “which also tells us how it can be to deal with these emotional disruptive fires. Inner turmoil and conflicts that you deal with yourself are central themes that we set to music in this way.” Despite this obvious gloom, there is always a glimmer of hope.
In our next issue we will be conducting an interview with the likeable formation.
