Q+A / Story (1/7): PLACEBO: “The choice was not difficult for me.”

4 facts that (almost) every Placebo fan knows:

– In the nineties, many bands named themselves after drugs. So it was clear to Placebo that they chose one that didn’t work.

– Placebo is truly an international group: Brian Molko is half American and half English, and lived in a variety of European cities during his childhood. Stefan Olsdal is a native Swede.

– Brian and Stefan first met in Luxembourg when they were teenagers. But it was only later in London that they were to form a band together.

– Brian himself confronts BREXIT consistently: “I would call myself a BREXIT orphan. The London government pushed us up against the wall and said: vote! The choice was not difficult for me. I chose Europe and left the UK in 2021. I was born in Europe and have always had a European identity.”
