What has remained of the sound, feeling and biting lyrics of Oomph? – Surely a question that has given everyone no peace since the exit of frontman Dero Goi. The 14th studio album in the now 34-year band history “Richter und Henker” offers all the answers. And asks questions. Makes you think, picks up on the bitter zeitgeist and hurls red-hot lyrics at you that sprout with esprit and irony. In between, there is also room for (failed?) love, (destroyed?) interpersonal relationships, and plenty of reflection on the present. Unapologetic and direct, as you always knew from Oomph! Schulz (Unzucht) transports the messages and emotions as a new voice in incredible perfection. Flux and Crap have always been responsible for the sound, and so “Richter und Henker” also sounds one hundred percent like Oomph! with lots of NDH and many tracks with earworm guarantee.
