Rabengott’s “Sleepwalker” combines modern dark rock with an eighties vibe and horror movie echoes to create a harmonious blend that is addictive. It begins with the title track: gentle piano tones build up to a dense soundscape, an irresistible club hit. “Love Kills” exudes a rocking Billy Idol charm, while a hint of NDH guitar resonates in “White Widow”. “Black Rose” may remind you of The Sisters of Mercy. But regardless of which scene icons you might think of when listening to “Sleepwalker”, Rabengott don’t copy anything that has gone before, they merely create a gentle reminder of times gone by.
