Shosta play their second album “Wandel” in three acts. It all begins with the dramatic “Bruch”, which is characterized by driving bass and harmonious synths, and finally leads to the dance-inducing “Störung”. Is this what we have become, “plastic people”? In love with “form”, only interested in the superficial? Can this lead to anything other than “war”? In any case, the melancholy “carousel” spins incessantly. The socio-critical lyrics are embedded in a driving mixture somewhere between dark wave, post-punk and eighties synths in a cerebral and visually rich language. “Wandel” is haunting, captivating and intense.
