Stahlzeit

12.01.2024 Nuremberg, KIA Metropol Arena

The new year 2024 was barely 12 days old and Concertbüro Franken was already presenting a tremendous concert experience in a class of its own in Nuremberg with the band Stahlzeit. The KIA Metropol Arena (4,000 seats), which will be inaugurated in 2021, is high and wide enough for Stahlzeit to draw on its full potential. The project was rewarded with an almost sold-out house, with only a few remaining seats unoccupied in the rear stands.

The spectacular Rammstein tribute show is an explosive production for all the senses: hear, smell, feel and see. Stahlzeit give the spectacle a unique touch by successfully bringing their own personality to it. Stahlzeit are always close to the original, yet different, but always on top. The “Zeitlos Neu” tour includes all – nomen est omen – “timeless” Rammstein classics up to the most recent releases. The audience’s confidence with the lyrics was also impressive. It is something very special when almost 4,000 people sing “Du, du hast, du hast mich” at the top of their lungs and you are right in the middle of the action.

During the song “Haifisch”, the keyboardist bravely let himself be carried over the heads of the audience in a rubber boat to the bar to get six beers – no problem thanks to the active support of the audience. Frontman Heli used this time extensively to make small talk with the fans in the front row and take selfies. Closeness to the fans is a top priority at Stahlzeit anyway. The diversity of the audience was also remarkable, consisting of families with their children (wearing earmuffs, of course), numerous all-female groups, but mainly couples, all making the typical R.J. Dio “devil’s horns” gesture at the appropriate time.

The outstanding, sometimes self-deprecating gestures and facial expressions of the frontman are also impressive and worth seeing. There was so much going on on stage that a single visit to the concert was not enough to really notice and experience all the details, nuances, pyrotechnic effects and connections. The show began shortly after 8:00 pm and ended at 10:30 pm, followed by a 20-minute encore including the classic “Engel” and the anticipated “Adieu”. When the lights came back on in the hall, you could only see satisfied faces, everyone was clearly having fun, both in front of and on stage. Almost 30 tracks, almost 3 hours and not a second boring. This concert evening has raised the bar for events in Nuremberg.

Frontman Heli was delighted with the KIA Metropol Arena Nuremberg and invited all fans to celebrate Stahlzeit ‘s 20th anniversary together at this venue in 2025. For those who can’t wait that long, he recommended the concert on 22.03.2024 at the Hirsch, where the Maerzfeld Tour 2024 will take place.
