TATTOO-Special (1/2): PETER TÄGTGREN (Hypocrisy, Ex-Lindemann, Pain)

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

I don’t like it too colorful.

We took a look at Peter Tägtgren(Hypocrisy, Pain) and talked to him about his numerous tattoos.

How and when did you first notice tattoos in your environment?

I don’t really know anymore. I think the old drunks who lived in the neighborhood had wild tattoos and stuff. I think most of them were actually sailors. They came from Stockholm or Gotenburg. I think it really started with Iron Maiden, because they had really visible tattoos.

And when did the desire to get a tattoo arise?

In our biker club we had a guy who did tattoos, which was of course very pleasant. I spent a lot of time there in the nineties, so I had that done at some point. Now I don’t have so much time and there would still be a lot to do!

What was the first tattoo you got?

It was a replica of Paul Stanley’s (Guns’n’Roses) rose. But a few years later I had it covered with something else.

How old were you then?

I was 15. (smiles and looks at his arm) This feather I have on my arm, I made it myself. This was shortly after I had the rose stitched….

What did your parents say about it?

They are totally freaked out! (laughs)

Details!

Hahahaha, there are no details! I mean, what were they supposed to do? After all, it was there and could not be washed off!

How excited were you when it came to getting your first tattoo?

It was kind of not planned at all, but then the moment I had it done, it was very exciting!

What was it like to be tattooed then?

After all, I was 15… that felt great!

Which tattoo did you get last?

That was also ages ago. I think I got it stitched between a gig and sound check, must have been about ten years ago. Since then I haven’t thought about tattoos at all.

What tattoos are still on the plan in the future?

I don’t know… There’s more Giger stuff on my right arm. I like these shades of gray and shadows. I don’t like it too colorful.

Which was the most painful place where Peter Tägtgren ever got a tattoo and whether he regrets one of his numerous pictures on his skin, you will find out in the next part.
