With “Frost”, Die Legende von Nord presents a self-produced album that lives up to its title in every respect. Between Nordic images of cold, driving riffs and epic moments, a work unfolds that deliberately focuses on dynamics: music box intros meet hard guitars, quiet passages turn into powerful outbursts. Thematically, it moves between depression set to music (“Illusions”), pointed anger (“No”) and love (“That I love you”). The perfect ending is provided by the funky, danceable “Momente”, which brings “Frost” to a perfect close. Cold doesn’t always have to be cold. “Frost” proves this skillfully.
