After the debut album “The Heavy Door”, “Thalassa” is an engaging sound between indie and garage rock, in which not only post-punk and gothic flair give the compositions strength of character. Drenched in appealing gloom, driving arrangements, substantial bass and charming reverb sometimes danceable, sometimes melancholic indulging deep into the ear. Guitar and vocals let the title track become an atmospheric acoustic ending. The decision to record mostly in one take contributes to the immediacy and urgency of the pieces. One likes to immerse oneself in these sounds of “Thalassa”.
