Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth), who was born Daniel Lloyd Davey in Hertford, England, is celebrating his 53rd birthday today! We wish him all the best!

Did you already know these 5 facts?

– Before Dani Filth founded Cradle of Filth in 1991, he was active in the following bands: Carnival Fruitcake, The Lemon Grove Kids, PDA, Feast on Excrement, The Bondage Boys and Hash Gordon and the Drug Barons.

– At the age of eighteen, Dani took a job in a Chinese restaurant. He later preferred his music career to an internship at a newspaper.

– The Cradle of Filth frontman used his birth name Daniel Lloyd Davey until he decided with the 1998 album “Cruelty and the Beast” that he needed a pseudonym that was as eye-catching as the band’s first concept album.

• When he recorded the songs for *Cruelty and the Beast*, he used a little reverb but no other effects, and yet he was still able to create two distinctly eerie-sounding voices on the record. – Including a high-pitched squeal. To achieve this without studio tricks, he had to push himself to the limit.

– Dani also let off steam as an actor and starred in “Cradle of Fear” (2001). Interviews with him were also broadcast in two episodes of “Metal Evolution” in 2012 and 2014.

What would you like to add to your collection for this occasion? A new shirt or…?
