VAMPIRE VALENTINE: Post-punk with gothic vibes
Founded in October 2025, the British darkwave/post-punk band Vampire Valentine released an atmospheric EP with “Pale Dawn”. But what is even more impressive: Their debut album itself was only released at the beginning of the year. This was followed by a signing with the independent label Morella Records, which also released the EP “Pale Dawn”. The duo – consisting of producer Michael Longstaff and guitarist/bassist Kieron Wright – paint dark, sonorous pictures. The Sisters of Mercy, Twin Tribes, She Past Away and Lebanon Hanover are certainly sources of inspiration, and in some ways this can of course be heard. – But perhaps the genre does that in itself. Nevertheless, Vampire Valentine don’t manage to sound like a copy of their idols. The Brits are releasing their next album this summer!
