Death metal and metalcore collide in a devilish way, shamelessly embracing industrial influences: With “Primal,” Virtual Perish offers a first taste of their upcoming studio album—and impressively proves that an old-school vibe and modern production harmonize perfectly. The international trio combines the raw power of nu metal and metalcore with dark industrial sounds and trap elements, without simply copying the past. Instead, Virtual Perish consistently do their own thing.
