On Stage: STAHLMANN

Magdeburg was rather rainy that evening, but that didn’t stop the fans from gathering in droves in front of the entrance early. Muffled drum sounds boomed out of the club, as the sound check was still in full swing, which made the wait for admission a little more bearable until the club opened its doors at 19:00.

After we had stocked up on drinks and items from the merch stands, our eyes fell on the stage and a platform that replaced it. Without a barrier and at a very low level, you could have got into the actors’ pants. This made the concert evening particularly intimate, if not nostalgic. There wasn’t much room for further thoughts, because Scherbentanz entered the stage, the dynamic drums immediately got going and the distinctive voice of frontman Manuel effortlessly captivated the audience. Among other things, the new album “Halbes Herz” was presented, while the hall filled up more and more. The duets with Simone (formerly Fuchsteufelswild), who sang with Manuel and performed a few solo flute interludes, were a highlight.

I checked my camera again, got myself a drink and then it was on with Stahlmann . The mood was set to “adrenaline” in one fell swoop. Masked and dipped in silver, frontman Mart greeted his guests after the first song and thanked them for coming. After the first two songs, the unmasking began. The two mask girls Eline & Diana, standing on the left and right, took the masks, placed them on a tray and carried them away. Mart repeatedly amused the audience in between with a few announcements, which was often met with boisterous laughter from the fans. But Stahlmann wouldn’t be Stahlmann if popular songs such as “Spring nicht”, “Kinder der Sehnsucht” and “Hass mich lieb mich” hadn’t been played. Of course, some tracks from the new “Addendum” album were also played. You can find a detailed review here.

Of course, it felt like the concert was over far too soon when the band thanked the audience to much applause. But before the concert is after the concert, as both bands came to the audience afterwards and took a lot of time for their fans. Conclusion: The Stahlmann and Scherbentanz club concert conveyed a certain feeling of “back in the day”, when you could still be close to the band and experience the music intensively.
