Saturday
Picnic for all the senses
Anyone who had not yet exhausted their portfolio of elaborate costumes on this day could look forward to Saturday, when the steampunk picnic also took place in Clara Zetkin Park. Last year at the German Allotment Garden Museum, it was decided to make use of the size of the park, which certainly paid off. Not only onlookers and steampunks were able to enjoy themselves, but also selected stands with all kinds of beautiful accessories offered their wares for sale. Once enough “I’ve got to have this too” moments had been collected during the two picnics, we took streetcar 11 to Agra to expand our own closet at the various exhibitors in the exhibition hall. If hunger struck afterwards, a number of food trucks on the grounds provided relief with lángos and co. (FW)
Dance the night away!
The excess calories could be danced away wonderfully in the concert hall towards the evening. In the Heidnisches Dorf it was Mr. Irish Bastard who caused a sensation. In the Agra, In Strict Confidence, Placebo Effect and then Agonoize scored first. This time without a blood show, but with a very long encore and many costume changes by singer Chris L.. (FW) Another highlight was the last act of the day, because when the old-school EBM formation Nitzer Ebb is on the program, you are guaranteed a fat beat and non-stop dancing – despite a rather restrained set. Iconic
The Felsenkeller became a cult venue when Die Kammer got the audience in the right mood with their chamber sounds and particularly dedicated fans. After a seven-year break from WGT, Umbra et Imago could be seen live again. As usual, Mozart’s heart was on the tip of his tongue and, as a little audience gag, he handed out knotted scarves for the audience to untie in order to come into contact with each other. Speaking of cult: there was also William Faith’s band The Bellwether Syndicate, who had come from Chicago to the Täubchenthal, where the goth rockers from Sex Gang Children were headlining a little later.
