VISAGE: Blitz, Midge Ure and Jacquie O’Sullivan

45 years ago today, on July 3, 1981, Visage released their single “Visage.” Did you already know these 6 facts?
★ “Visage” is her fourth single and also the lead single from her debut album of the same name.
★ In the UK, the song reached number 21 in the singles charts, 22 in Ireland and 22 in Germany.
★ In their home country, the single was released with three different cover images, each featuring singer Steve Strange. They were shot by John Timbers, Robyn Beeche and Brian Griffin. The cover image we are showing is by Griffin, who also designed the iconic cover of Depeche Mode’s“A Broken Frame”.
★ The music video was the first of two Visage videos directed by Midge Ure(Ultravox).
★ The video was partly shot in the nightclub called Blitz in London’s Covent Garden.
★ At the beginning of the video, the then unknown Jacquie O’Sullivan (Bananarama) can be seen as a customer at the bar.
