Interview with ARGOROK (Part 1 of 2)

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

The rising stars of extreme metal, Argorok, are back with their new EP, “Omen.” We spoke with the band in our two-part interview.

Stay on top of things

“You have to keep moving,” explained Bill Thiele, the bassist and founder of the Dresden-based quintet Argorok, when asked about the timing of the EP’s release. “We just didn’t want to make our fans wait too long for new material. Nothing is worse than having to wait three or four years for a band’s new songs.” But there’s another, less pleasant reason, as he goes on to explain: “The music scene has changed dramatically in recent years due to streaming and social media. At the same time, this brings many opportunities, because it’s never been easier to release music than it is now. Unfortunately, though, this also makes things difficult for a young band. Given how fast-paced things are today, it’s not easy to stay on people’s radar if you haven’t released anything new for years. And we definitely want our music to reach people. So, in the end, we decided to release a short EP this time, and we actually had a lot of fun with the quick production process. But that doesn’t mean we won’t be releasing full-length albums in the future.”
