On Stage: DARK INDIE ELECTRO FESTIVAL with DIORAMA, SCHEUBER a.o.

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

11.03.2023: Brunswick, KufA
Diorama, Toal, Neoclin, Scheuber, The Invincible Spirit

Dark Electro concerts or even festivals are rare in Braunschweig. All the greater is the joy when five bands share the stage for one evening.

It’s already 8:30 pm when the festival starts with local heroes Toal. Quickly the hall of the KufA in Brunswick gets full and the dancing in front of the stage starts.

This is no different with the following Neoklin, even if they appeal to a completely different clientele than their predecessors with distorted voices and harder pitches.

Shortly after, Scheuber already finds himself on stage. Just two weeks earlier, his latest work “Autarcique” was released, from which there is much to hear. Not even the laptop falling over the stage for a short time can devalue the performance – everyone takes it with humor and fortunately nothing is broken.

Now it was time for the headliner of the evening, Diorama. Right at the beginning singer Torben tells us that guitarist Zura is a bit sick. During the concert, however, there is little sign of this, as he sweeps across the stage just as agilely as singer Torben. Sometimes left, sometimes right, suddenly behind keyboardist Felix or drummer Marquess. It’s visibly difficult for him to stay still behind his keyboard for a song. The set is colorfully mixed through all band years and even has “Said but True” from the 1999 album “Pale” on it. Dancing to all songs, but especially to “Synthesize Me”. “Gasoline” and “Advance.” After 13 songs they have to leave the stage without an encore.

In the meantime it’s shortly before one o’clock when The Invincible Spirit start, who have kindly swapped their slot with Diorama and thus finish the evening as after-headliners. Although the audience has diminished somewhat, the dance floor increases, even if the muscles slowly give way. For many, therefore, after “Push!” That’s all, but everyone got their money’s worth that evening. (Text: Elias Nieke, Photos: Mina Wagner)
