TAZER interview (2/2)

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

Tazer release their debut album “Taze Is the Rule”. We talk to the trio in our two-part interview about what’s behind the cult. You missed part 1? No problem, you can read it here .

Vision

The song “Tazer Erazer” deals with opening up new possibilities in order to leave one’s past behind. To do this, we need to know more. “We want our work to be impactful and inspiring, never predictable. That’s why we put so much emphasis on the visuals, the videos, the logos, the image – and that’s why we keep our identity a secret. Our work speaks for us, and it is always focused on the future. We don’t want roots, just inspiration. It’s a mindset, an attitude, a way of life: you either have it or you don’t.” This is somehow related to “Raise the Voltage”, because sometimes such a transformation means you have to go to the extreme. But how do you know when you’ve reached the maximum? When the “voices in my head” have spoken enough? “You never reach the maximum. When you reach the peak, you have failed, you are at the end. The ‘maximum’ doesn’t exist. For us, there is always a next level, and the voices in our heads never speak enough.”

Transformation

Another track that raises questions is “Taze Your God”. Which authorities do Tazers actually trust these days, or rather: what qualities should a person or institution in a position of authority possess in order to earn respect? “The authority that emanates from a true Tazer is unimpeachable. Therefore, any person or institution that carries this human equivalent of raw power deserves our respect. We have no time for those who give in – be it to the market, trends, politics or compromise. We respect clear ideas and the relentless pursuit of goals, regardless of ideology.”
