PROJECT PITCHFORK: On Stage

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

Snow flurries, mulled wine and a Christmas market
How does that fit in with a Project Pitchfork concert? Now, on November 25, 2023, the final tour concert of Peter Spilles and his bandmates took place in Leipzig. So we went straight past the Christmas market, the smell of mulled wine wafted around our noses on the way to Haus Leipzig and it had even snowed that evening.

The venue gradually filled up and suddenly the lights went out. Chemical Sweet Kid entered the stage to loud cheers and then the guys kicked off. What followed was a show that you simply have to love. Not only did the three guys from France seem to form a symbiosis on stage, but their special musical mixture of powerful Metal, enriched with electronic sounds, drums and guitars, was also impressive. Of course, a bare-chested Julien Kidam singing was also an absolute eye-catcher! Later, there was even a little erotic show. A laser show, which the keyboardist Comte Nefaria visually sent out into the crowd during the concert, left an acoustically and visually successful impression at the end.

We urgently needed the break, because it had gotten really warm in the hall. Then a murmur went through the crowd. Lights off Spot on! On stage, Project Pitchfork began to take their respective places on stage and then there was no stopping them. Peter Spilles took to the stage and the audience cheered him on. He kicked off the concert with the song “Conjure”, which was followed by “Alpha Omega”. First released in 1995, the song has lost none of its charm today. By now the band had picked up everyone in the room and standing still became an absolute impossibility. The band was bursting with energy and enthusiasm, and that naturally also applied to Jürgen Jansen and the two drummers Christian “Léo” Leonhardt and Achim Färber. They did everything they could to create the familiar Pitchfork sound on their drums, which was a joy to watch.

During the concert, the atmosphere was so heated – in the truest sense of the word – that the crowd seemed to be in a dancing frenzy. But even the best concert comes to an end. Or not! Two more intense encores followed before the farewell concert at the end of the year was finally over.
