Happy Birthday ANDREW ELDRITCH!

We wish Andrew Eldritch from The Sisters of Mercy all the best for his 65th birthday!
Did you know?
– The Sisters of Mercy were founded in Leeds in 1980.
– Although the band still performs live today, only three albums have been released: “First and Last and Always” (1985), “Floodland” (1987) and “Vision Thing” (1990).
– The line-up has changed again and again over the years. Only founder Andrew Eldritch and the drum machine called Doktor Avalanche are always part of The Sisters of Mercy.
– Andrew Eldritch cites Motörhead, The Cramps, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Psychedelic Furs and Leonard Cohen as important influences.
– The band name was inspired by Robert Altman’s film “McCabe & Mrs. Miller” (1971), in which the Leonard Cohen song “Sisters of Mercy” appears.
